SENIOR EXPERIENCE DESIGNER, NATIVE MOBILE — MANAGER, ALLSTATE

As a lead designer across two platforms, I am tasked with creating experiences that are intuitive for users and adhere to industry standards. I help make our team successful by gathering requirements, collaborating with product owners, and testing constantly with our users. My daily responsibilities include:

  • Representing UX within scrum teams

  • Facilitation of working sessions with UX Architects, UX Researchers, Mobile engineers and business analysts

  • Creation and implementation of design systems for native mobile applications throughout the enterprise

  • Mentoring and knowledge sharing to junior designers

  • Weekly 1:1’s with direct reports to discuss project work, establish and align on career goals along with offering administrative support 

DOMAIN LEAD - VISUAL DESIGN, THE NERDERY

November 2017 - April 2018

As the domain lead for the Visual Design practice, it was my responsibility to create standards for designers to adhere to for any given client. This allowed The Nerdery to deliver world class solutions that were also visually engaging. Apart from assisting sales for new business, I also monitored the health of each client engagement that had a visual component to it, which allowed us to provide consistent high quality work. I fostered the growth of the domain through:

  • Mentored & measured capacity for junior, mid & senior level designers through bi-weekly 1:1’s

  • Facilitation of knowledge sharing meetings & peer review

  • Roadmapped milestones for domain growth & success

  • Assisted and pitched with sales for new business

USER EXPERIENCE DESIGNER - VISUAL DESIGN, THE NERDERY

As a lead designer on an engagement it was my responsibility to orchestrate the design portion of a project through close requirements gathering and close client engagement. I led design efforts through:

  • Business discovery exercises

  • Workshop facilitation

  • Varied fidelity wireframing & prototyping

  • Visual design discovery methods (moodboards, style tiles, etc)

  • High Fidelity visual design comps, pattern libraries and style guides
